A New Zealand court has ordered an engineering firm to pay 80,000 dollars to a 28-year-old Indian worker after he sustained serious injuries following a fall from a construction site.

The 20-year-old, whose name was suppressed, was convicted after pleading guilty to one charge of assault and will reappear in the Christchurch District Court on June 5, the Christchurch Press reported.

A 37-year-old man was charged with assault and a reckless disregard for Ryder's safety, while his nephew aged 20 faced two charges of assault at Christchurch District Court.
