Amazon has been expanding from its original mission as anonline retailer to a diversified tech firm in cloud computing,online video, computer hardware and artificial intelligence.

A video currently doing the rounds on social media shows one of those grand proposals executed in front of the Cloud Gate sculpture in Chicago on Valentine's Day. For his big day, Gaurav Gadodia sought the help of Chai Town, an a capella group based out of Illinois.

At a time when most of the news out of the city is political and on bifurcation, Hyderabad boy Satya Nadella has given everyone here a reason for celebration. The city boy making it to the top job in Microsoft has meant the city is on 'cloud' nine and everyone sees several 'windows' of hope and opportunity opening up.

Microsoft today appointed Hyderabad-born Satya Nadella as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors effective immediately. Nadella previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Microsofts Cloud and Enterprise group.

Satya Nadella, a native of Hyderabad, India - where Microsoft has its largest non-U.S. research center - was promoted to run the company's fast expanding cloud, or internet-based, computing initiatives in July last year as part of current CEO Steve Ballmer's radical re-organization of the company.
