Coal Strike Called Off

Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said that Coal India Ltd (CIL) trade unions have assured the government that they will try to make up for the loss in production of about one million tonnes on account of a workers strike which was called off the previous day.

After a marathon meeting with Union coal minister Piyush Goyal that lasted more than six and a half hours, the striking trade unions have finally called off the coal strike. The minister said a committee will be formed to look into their concerns.
