Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday lashed out at Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyer for his "neech" remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the comment displays the mindset that "only one elite family" can rule this country.

BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi today advocated for making class VIII pass mandatory for contesting elections, while Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyer suggested increasing the strength of Parliament to address the long-pending issue of reservation for women.

The Congress has intensified its attack on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the state assembly polls.
