Congress Wins Gandhinagar Polls

The ruling BJP today retained the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) and won in two other civic bodies in Gujarat, while the Congress took away Bhanvad municipality in Devbhumi-Dwarka district from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

It's a tie. The BJP and the Congress have each won 16 seats in the municipal corporation of Gujarat capital Gandhinagar. Winning the prestigious local body election was an important piece in the political plans of both parties.
