Cops Thrashed By Lawyer

A group of lawyers of the Alwar district court near Jaipur on Wednesday allegedly thrashed four police personnel, including a woman constable and another from Haryana Police, days after violence broke out between policemen and lawyers in Delhi.

A woman advocate and her "drunk" friend - a cop - who was allegedly thrashed by a BJP councillor for misbehaving at his restaurant by pointing a pistol at his staff, landed in another controversy on Wednesday after she drove her car rashly, hitting at least four vehicles in Meerut.

The policeman, in uniform, had accompanied a woman friend to a restaurant in Meerut when they reportedly had an argument with the staff over a delay in delivery of their order. In a cellphone video of the incident, shot by one of the staff members, the woman, a lawyer, can be seen holding a pistol, abusing and threatening Manish Kumar, the owner.
