EU Lawmakers Committee Reaches Preliminary Deal on Artificial Intelligence Act

A committee of European Union lawmakers on Thursday reached a preliminary agreement on a European Artificial Intelligence Act, which would pave the way to the first ever regulation of AI. The draft needs to be thrashed out between EU countries and EU lawmakers, called a trilogue, before the rules can become law.

Aamir Khan has resigned from a committee set up by Kapil Sibal to look into a new version of the Copyright Act. Khan reportedly got into an argument with lyricist Javed Akhtar at a meeting called by Sibal on Monday, and subsequently sent in his resignation to Sibal.
