In a Delhi court former Telecom Minister A Raja today opposed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI's) plea for placing on record a CD containing recorded conversations and transcripts of calls of former corporate lobbyist Niira Radia pertaining to 2G spectrum allocation.

The CBI had filed an application in the 2G court seeking to call Mr. Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani as additional witnesses in the case.

Special CBI Judge O.P. Saini deferred the matter as the Supreme Court on April 26 had issued notice to CBI on Mittal's plea challenging the summons issued against him and had said that the proceedings in the trial court will remain "postponed" until further orders.

The Supreme Court will on Monday, take up Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Mittal and Essar Group promoter Ravi Ruias petition challenging the summons of the CBI special court in a case related to alleged irregularities in the allocation of mobile phone bandwidth during the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance regime in 2002.

The Supreme Court of India had deferred a decision on Monday on whether Mr Mittal could be summoned.
