Couple Electrocuted In Up

A two-year-old tiger and a hyena have been found dead in the Panna Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh in the last couple of days with forest department officials suspecting the animals got trapped in 'live' wire fences set up to keep wild boars at bay.

A 55-year-old man and his wife were killed on Friday after they came in contact with a live electric wire in Suremanpur village in Bairia, the police said.

Five members of a family were today awarded the death penalty by the Rohini court in the 2010 Swaroop Nagar killing case where a teenaged couple were beaten up mercilessly, tortured and then electrocuted by the convicts who objected to the girl's marriage with a boy from a different caste.
