Over one crore children in the age-group of 12-14 years have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Friday.

A second COVID-19 vaccine for children has received emergency use authorisation in India. Biological E Ltd's Corbevax has got EUA for children and teens between 12 and 18 years, the vaccine-maker said in a statement today.

Noting that timely completion of Covid vaccination schedule is important to confer full protection of vaccines to the recipients, the Centre has asked the states and Union Territories to review the coverage of second dose amongst adolescents daily.
