The Kerala High Court has set aside its September order that directed the centre to allow a second dose of Covishield (for those eligible) after a four-week gap instead of the currently mandated 84 days.

The decision to increase the gap between two doses of the Covishield vaccine was "transparent" and "based on scientific data", Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan tweeted Wednesday, echoing yesterday's tweet by NTAGI chief Dr NK Arora.

The government Friday said there is no need to panic on the need for an immediate change in the dosage interval of Covishield vaccine, underlining that reducing the time gap requires proper scientific study in the Indian scenario.
