Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla took a leaf out of parliamentarians for the inauguration of the mid-year executive committee meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, which will be held for the first time in India in Guwahati.

Maintaining its strong stance, India has asked the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association to shift the venue of CPA's annual conference from Islamabad, saying Pakistan has "forfeit" its right to host the meet by not inviting the Jammu & Kashmir branch which was in violation of the Association's constitution.

India is likely to boycott the meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, or CPA, in Pakistan unless the speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is invited, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said today.
