Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said 20 more bridges in Kolkata have been found to be weak. Pointing out that the earlier Left Front government had built the bridges, she said "There is no use blaming us". An investigation is on and strong action will be taken against whoever is responsible, she added.

The three-day CPI-M Kerala plenum will commence in Palakkad tomorrow, and among other things, it would discuss organisational weakness and ways to make the party stronger to face the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

As if a shrinking presence in the country was not bad enough, the CPM is also having to confront party cadres who are not toeing the party line on a host of issues.
