Bungled ticket sales, corruption of data in the online Information System and transportation problems continue to dog the Commonwealth Games, CGF boss Michael Fennell said on Sunday even as OC Chairman Suresh Kalmadi insisted that "generally things are in place."

Acting on reports of unavailability of tickets on counters despite empty stadiums, the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee on Sunday removed Sanjeev Mittal as the head of ticketing. He will be replaced by Monica Jolly, who will now be the new ticketing in-charge.

With just 18 days left for the Commonwealth Games, the sale of tickets is finally picking up with hockey being the top grosser. More than 60,000 tickets have been sold till date for the hockey tournament that will be played at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium Oct 4-14.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games tickets will be finally available in retail outlets across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) from Wednesday. The Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games have attracted the maximum interest, so far contributing 25 per cent of the sales.
