• Engineering Student Arrested for Debit Card Fraud in Hyderabad

  A final-year engineering student was on Monday arrested by the cyber crime police here for making purchases by obtaining details of other people's debit cards.

• Software techie held for harassing woman by fake Facebook posts

  A software professional, who allegedly created a fake Facebook account of a married woman and posted obscene information and morphed images in order to defame and spoil her matrimonial life, was arrested from Karimnagar district, police said on Wednesday.

• Hands-on training to Andhra Pradesh police officers to probe cyber-crimes

  The number of cyber-crime cases has seen a rise in Andhra Pradesh for the third year in a row even as the state police gears up to complete training of its Inspectors and DSPs level officers to investigate such offences, by the end of 2013.

  A total of 242 cases were referred to the Cyber Crime Cell in Visakhapatnam in the last three years, Police Commissioner J Purnachandra Rao said today.
