The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) today said the High Court's refusal to stay the release of the juvenile convict in the December 16 gangrape case was a "dark day" in the history of the country and it would appeal against his release.

Delhi Police Gets Restraining Order on Broadcast of Delhi Gang-Rape Convict's Interview

The Delhi Police has got a restraining order from a city court barring broadcast of the interview of one of the convicts in the December 16, 2012, Delhi gang-rape case, sources told NDTV. Earlier this evening, the police had filed a First Information Report, or FIR, in the case.

Standing Committee Thumbs Down on Proposal to Treat Juveniles in Rape Cases as Adults

The Parliamentary standing committee reviewing the proposed changes in the Juvenile Justice Act has rejected the Union government's recommendation to treat accused in cases of rape and other heinous crimes, who are 16-18 years old, as adults.
