"Deepotsav" In UP Now A State Event, Rs. 1.33 Crore To Be Spent This Year

The much-publicised 'Deepotsav' in Ayodhya later this week will now be an official function and the Uttar Pradesh government will bear the entire expenses of the event. A decision to this effect has been taken by the state Cabinet.

Over 5.5 Lakh Diyas To Be Lit Up In UP's Ayodhya For Diwali

More than 5.5 lakh diyas will be lit in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya this "Deepotsava", which is a prelude to the festival of Diwali. Last year, Ayodhya had broken a Guinness World Record by lighting more than three lakh earthen lamps and keeping them lit for at least 45 minutes on the banks of river Saryu for Diwali celebrations.
