Delhi to Switch Eighty Percent of Bus Fleet to Electric Vehicles by 2025, CM Says

Delhi will switch 80 percent of its bus fleet to electric vehicles by 2025, according to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The state currently has 7,379 buses, out of which 300 are electric vehicles. The government is also working on installing charging points for e-buses at depots, the chief minister said.

Delhi government is said to soon take over the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) electric bus fleet to strengthen the last-mile connectivity across the city. The Delhi Cabinet recently took the decision to take over 100 existing E-buses and also operate additional 380 feeder E-buses under the transport department in 2023.
