Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi on Saturday alleged a "scam" of Rs 3,237 crore in the Delhi Jal Board under the AAP government, citing various accounting-related irregularities since 2017.

The Delhi Lieutenant Governor today directed the Chief Secretary to lodge an FIR against Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials and others for embezzlement of Rs 20 crore, said a statement.

The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) probing the alleged DJB water tanker scam has asked Delhi Water minister Kapil Mishra to join investigation in the case. A case was registered by the ACB in connection with the alleged 400-crore water tanker scam linking former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in June this year.

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has sent notice to Sheila Dikshit asking her to join the investigation in connection with the alleged Rs. 400-crore water tanker scam even as the former Delhi Chief Minister dubbed the charges as "politically motivated".
