The office of a lawyer in Delhi who allegedly tutored people to give false statements in cases linked to the riots over the amended citizenship law in the national capital in February was raided by the Delhi Police on Thursday.

Fifteen people have been named by the police in a vast chargesheet filed over the Delhi riots that raged through the capital city in February this year, leaving more than 50 people dead and property worth crores damaged.

The investigation into the Delhi riots has led to a series of arrests of people protesting against the CAA or Citizenship Amendment Act. Altogether, the police registered 750 cases and arrested over 1,300 people -- an equal number from both communities.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday blamed the BJP for the violence in the national capital, saying this is their "Gujarat model", and alleged that the BJP does politics "by spreading hatred".

The central government and Delhi Police today asked the high court for more time to file First Information Reports (FIRs) for hate speeches that allegedly incited violence in the national capital, triggering clashes over controversial citizenship law that killed at least 35 and injured over 200 this week.

The Shiv Sena on Wednesday said the violence in Delhi is akin to a "horror film" depicting the grim reality of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and the "bloodbath" has brought disrepute to the national capital like never before while US President Donald Trump was in India with the "message of love".
