Distance Between Meat Shop, Religious Place Must Be 150-Metre: Delhi Rule

A condition of a minimum distance of 150 metres between a meat shop and a religious place is part of a proposed policy for granting new or renewed licenses for meat shops, which received the approval of the MCD House today.

In a month, the sight of kebabs on skewers or raw fish outside shops in south Delhi may be gone. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation or SDMC, which is ruled by the BJP, has ordered eateries to keep all meat, raw or cooked, out of sight for the sake of hygiene and "sentiment".
