Delhi Self-styled Godman Arrest

Delhi Police on Wednesday said it arrested a self-styled godman in connection with two cases of sexual assault filed on the complaints of two women devotees.

The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested a self-styled godman, Daati Maharaj, in connection with a religious ceremony organised at a South Delhi temple in violation of the lockdown norms, officials said.

Self-styled godman Daati Maharaj, accused of raping a disciple has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court's order transferring the case to the CBI. The high court had on October 3 pulled up the Delhi Police for not arresting Daati Maharaj in the case and had transferred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) ON Friday, issued a notice to Delhi Police, asking why self-styled godman Daati Maharaj , accused of raping a disciple, has not been arrested.
