Madras High Court yesterday ordered issuance of notice to authorities on a criminal revision petition by Sri Lankan Minister Douglas Devananda to recall a non-bailable warrant issued by a lower court in a shootout case registered in 1986.

A Sri Lankan minister has threatened to take some 5,000 fishermen to India to protest against poaching by Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan waters. Douglas Devananda said he will lead the protest to give a message to India that the livelihood of the country's fishermen is affected due to poaching by Indian fishermen.
