Dgca Powers To Impose Penalties

The government plans to provide the Directorate General of Civil Aviation or DGCA with powers to impose penalties for violations. The proposal, which has been in the works for some time, would give more leeway for the regulator in taking enforcement actions against erring entities.

The move would give more teeth and leeway to the aviation regulator and aviation security agency BCAS in dealing with instances of violations amid the domestic sector witnessing over 20 per cent sustained growth in passenger traffic.
