The AIADMK is unlikely to celebrate its 43rd birthday tomorrow unless its chief J Jayalalithaa gets bail. The Supreme Court will hear the bail petition of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister, who has been in a Bangalore jail for almost two weeks after she was convicted in a corruption case and sentenced to four years in jail.

The CBI on Thursday arrested Andhra Pradesh Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramna in connection with a corruption case related to YSR Congress Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.Mr Venkataramna was arrested soon after he appeared before them for questioning for a second consecutive day.
