Division Voting Voice Vote

Amidst concerns from the Congress, the Leader of the Opposition and other BJP MLAs met with the Himachal Governor today, pressing for a division of votes during the Budget session rather than a simple voice vote.

Madhya Pradesh BJP on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Governor Lalji Tandon demanding a floor test, by division of votes and not voice vote, before the budget session begins on Monday.

After much fireworks in the morning, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly reconvened at 12.20 pm to pass by voice vote a controversial resolution that proposes to split the state into four states. Chief Minister Mayawati, who had announced the proposal last week, pushed the resolution in minutes by brute numbers drowning the loud protests of the Opposition.
