CBI today started a preliminary enquiry into the "unnatural" death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer DK Ravi whose body was found hanging at his residence in Bengaluru a month ago.

A contempt of court petition against Karnataka government and three others was filed in the High Court yesterday by the husband of a woman IAS officer who was a batchmate of upright bureaucrat DK Ravi into whose mysterious death a CBI probe has been ordered.

Amid protests over the death of IAS officer DK Ravikumar, who was found hanging in his home in Bengaluru last week, the Karnataka government has handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
