Kerala Opposition parties' leaders on Thursday boycotted the State Assembly session after the Speaker denied permission to discuss an adjournment motion notice given by Congress MLA PT Thomas.

Days after the Crime Branch registered an FIR against some ED officials, the Left front government in Kerala today decided to recommend a judicial inquiry against central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, for "derailing the probe" in the gold smuggling and dollar cases.

The Customs on Thursday arrested suspended IAS officer M Sivasankar in the dollar smuggling case that came to light during the probe into the gold smuggling racket in Kerala in which he is also an accused.
