Union minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday said the Met department's severe weather prediction accuracy improved by around 40 per cent in the last eight to nine years.

Earth Sciences Minister Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the doppler weather radars in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today that will improve forecasts in the hilly states and also for Char Dham and Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimages.

The system uses low-level Doppler radar to measure your heart, and then continually monitors your heart to make sure no one else has stepped in to run your computer.

Terming as "lethargic" the approach of BMC in finalising a site to set up doppler radar system in the city, the Bombay High Court today came down heavily on the civic chief for dragging his feet on the issue.
