Dornier Aircraft Squadron

An air squadron of the Indian Navy based here carried out its maiden night landing by Dornier aircraft at the Agatti airfield in Lakshadweep islands on Friday as part of its efforts towards round the clock maritime surveillance.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief RKS Bhadauria has formally inducted the light utility aircraft Dornier into No. 41 "Otters" Squadron, a statement by the central government said.

The Indian Navy has commissioned its sixth Dornier aircraft squadron in strategically located Porbandar town of Gujarat, giving a fillip to coastal security near the sea border with Pakistan.
