Drone Show On Republic Day

Rains failed to dampen the spirit of Beating Retreat ceremony held at the historic Vijay Chowk on Sunday as Indian classical tunes played by bands of the armed forces filled the air, marking the end of Republic Day celebrations.

Indian tunes based on Indian Classical Ragas will be the flavour of the 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony this year which will be graced by President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Droupadi Murmu at Vijay Chowk.

The Republic Day ceremonies on January 26 will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage at the National War Memorial in New Delhi

In a first, a grand drone show will dazzle the sky above the national capital during the Beating the Retreat ceremony to be held at Vijay Chowk on Saturday as part of the country's 73rd Republic Day celebrations.

The drone show is aimed at encouraging a Delhi-based startup, and India will become the fourth country to perform it at such a scale, news agency ANI had reported.
