The Odisha government today approved investment of Rs 1,188 crore in three sectors -- paper, cement and food processing.

Emami Paper Mills Ltd, the country's largest newsprint manufacturer, has decided to increase investment in paperboards to Rs 2,000 crore in the next three years to strengthen its diversification to the high-margin segment.

Emami Paper Mills, which announced its diversification into high-end packaging paper earlier, would commission its plant by March next year, an official of the company said.

Emami Paper Mills Ltd has informed BSE that the Register of Members & Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from August 08, 2011 to August 11, 2011 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of Payment of Dividend & 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company to be held on August 11, 2011.
