Hero Lectro, the electric cycles brand of Hero Cycles Ltd, on Monday said the prices of its five products will be reduced by up to Rs 15,000 in Delhi, following the inclusion of e-cycles to be eligible for subsidy and tax exemption under the EV policy.

Delhi government has announced that it'll provide Rs. 5,500 subsidy on purchase of e-cycles to the first 10,000 buyers. It'll also offer Rs. 15,000 subsidy on cargo e-cycles for first 5,000 buyers. The scheme is available only for Delhi residents.

Speaking to carandbike, Aditya Munjal, CEO of Hero Lectro shares his thoughts on the e-cycle category and its future in India.

The Bazinga e-cycle has been priced at RS. 49,445 and the Bazinga Cargo e-cycle has been priced at Rs. 51,525.

With a previous production capacity of 16,000 e-bikes per annum, EMotorad is ready to roll out 90,000 units of e-cycles every year and has invested Rs. 20 crore to date for the same.
