A 30-year-old farm labourer allegedly killed his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter by throwing her into a farm pond in a fit of rage following an argument with his wife in Maharashtra's Jalna district on Wednesday, police said.

The West Bengal Forest Department on Monday distributed fingerling fish to villagers in Sunderbans in South 24 Parganas district to dissuade them from going into creeks, adjacent to the core forest area, to catch shrimps, crabs and collect firewood.
