Farmer Dead During Republic Day Rally

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday met family members of Navreet Singh, a farmer who lost his life during the protest in New Delhi on Republic Day, in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur and also attended a prayer ceremony for him.

Several key roads in central Delhi and entry to Metro stations in the Old City have been closed in view of heightened security a day after violence that broke out during protesting farmers' Republic Day tractor rally that left one dead and at least 85 policemen injured.
