Fast Track Special Courts Scheme

The law ministry is learnt to have approached the Union Cabinet to push for the extension of the special fast track courts which seek to deliver swift justice in sexual offence cases.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the continuation of 1023 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) including 389 exclusive POCSO Courts as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for two years from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2023.

The government told the Parliament on Friday that it has formulated a scheme to set up 1,023 fast track special courts (FTSCs) for expeditious trial and disposal of rape cases, including that of minors.
