Hyundai Motor, Kia and two other carmakers will recall over 7,700 vehicles due to faulty components, the transport ministry here said on Wednesday.

Tesla was replacing front fender cameras in several hundred Model S, X and 3 vehicles due to faulty circuit boards inside but had not issued a recall. NHTSA has urged public to voice any safety defect in their Tesla that isn't part of a current recall.

Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for nearly 1.82 lakh vehicles, which includes the petrol models of the Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza and XL6. The recall is to inspect and replace the vehicle's Motor Generator Unit, which may have a potential safety defect.

The recall will be limited to vehicles which are less than seven years old from the date of manufacturing, import or retro fitment.

Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for its light commercial vehicle Super Carry in India. The company says that it is a voluntary recall to inspect for a possible defect in fuel pump assembly. The automaker has confirmed that a total 640 Super Carry vehicles will be covered under this recall campaign.

Maruti Suzuki has issued a voluntary recall for the new generation Swift and Dzire models in the country to inspect a possible fault in the airbag controller unit. The automaker will be inspecting 1279 vehicles comprising 566 Swift and 713 Dzire models that were manufactured between May 7 and July 5, 2018, as part of the recall exercise.

The latest exercise takes the overall number of recalled vehicles, equipped with airbags manufactured by Takata, by the company to 3.13 lakh units in India.

The recall affects 21,494 units of the Dzire that were manufactured between February 23 and July 10 this year. Maruti Suzuki has stated that the exercise was initiated due to a fault with the rear wheel hub of certain cars.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Uber managers in Singapore bought more than 1,000 Honda Vezel SUVs and rented them to drivers even though they knew the model had been recalled in April 2016.

Toyota has recently issued a recall for 2.9 million cars across Japan, China, Oceania and other regions, including India to replace faulty Takata airbags. It is said that about 23,000 Toyota Corolla Altis that were sold in India are also a part of this global recall.
