"I didn't want to do a show that would stereotype me or put Indian people into a box. I'm a leading actress in India and I wanted to make sure I was a leading actress in whatever I did. I would not compromise on that," said Priyanka Chopra

"I don't say things just because I'm a feminist and I believe in woman power. That word (feminist) has been bastardized; there's no respect to it anymore. I'm not berating men," said Priyanka Chopra

"I am an extremely proud feminist. I am someone who believes that feminism is just a conversation about equality. It is not about hating or berating men. For a long time, women have been treated as second class citizens and it's high time we are given the due credit," said Priyanka
