Fergusson College Anti-national Slogans

Student wings affiliated to Congress, NCP and various other political outfits today demanded the ouster of Fergusson College Principal over a letter written to city police seeking action against group of students for purportedly raising anti-national slogans during an event in Pune.

Police today said that "anti-national" slogans were not raised at Pune's Fergusson College campus on Tuesday after the ABVP members and a group of Left and Dalit students got into a heated argument during an informal event on 'Truth of JNU'.

Fergusson College principal RG Pardeshi today expressed "regret" over the letter written to police wherein he had sought action against individuals for allegedly raising anti-national slogans on the campus during an informal ABVP's 'Truth of JNU' event on Tuesday.

The famous Fergusson College in Pune has withdrawn a complaint to the police asking for punishment for students who the administration accused of shouting anti-India slogans at a campus event.
