Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in association with the Flag Foundation of India (FFI) on Thursday installed a 72-feet-high national flag at ITBP Academy near Nag Mandir in Mussoorie.

"It is the need of the hour to help manufacturers with a proper standardization and core subject knowledge or skills on technical yarns and fabrics to improve the quality of the flag fabric," said Bipin Kumar, professor at the Textile and Fibre Engineering Department, IIT Delhi.

The Film Federation of India has distanced itself from disgruntled former jury member Rahul Rawail, who accused Oscar jury head Amol Palekar of being 'manipulative' and obnoxious'. "What we would have appreciated is a situation where he could have spoken to the FFI President and other senior officials before going to the media"

Mr Palekar, 70, said via phone, "All of us including him (Rahul Rawail) have signed an undertaking with the Film Federation of India (FFI). We are sworn to be secretive and I will not breach it till I get permission to open my mouth. Regarding his allegations, on a personal level I choose not to respond to his allegations"
