Observing that the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal has got down to a rot, the Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notices to tribunal's judicial member Rakesh Kumar and technical member Alok Srivastava.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 78.94 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Finolex Cables said in a BSE filing.

Finolex Cables on Monday reported a 38.46 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 48.02 crore for the quarter ended June 2015.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 69.31 crore in the January-March period of the previous fiscal, Finolex Cables said in a filing to the BSE.

Domestic brokerage Sharekhan increased its price target for Finolex to Rs 180 from Rs 152 and retained a "buy" rating in a research note dated May 8.

The report, commissioned by the environment court considering whether Sterlite Industries' smelter should remain in operation, will be used by Judge Swatanter Kumar to reach a ruling. The case resumes on July 15.

The smelter, run by Sterlite Industries, a unit of London-listed Vedanta, was shut on March 30 after nearby residents complained of emissions that led to breathing problems.
