Firing At Indian Fishermen

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today called on the two Indian fishermen, who were injured in alleged firing by the Sri Lankan Navy, at the Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital and Research Institute in Puducherry.

An Indian fisherman was injured in Pakistani firing today after a group of fishing boats crossed the International Maritime Boundary Line, northwest of Gujarat, sources said.

One person was killed in firing on an Indian boat from an unmarked ship in international waters today off the Gujarat coast. It is not clear yet whether the ship that attacked the boat is from Pakistan.

In yet another attack, an Indian fisherman was on Thursday injured when Sri Lankan naval personnel allegedly fired at some fishing boats off Kodiakarai coast, about 200 km from Rameswaram, fisheries department officials said.
