A parliamentary standing committee pointed out that the number of beneficiaries under the Free Coaching Scholarship Scheme for students with disabilities has been nil from 2019-2022.

The Delhi government will provide free preparatory coaching for entrance exams like NEET and JEE to its students willing to make their career in the field of engineering, medical and other technical fields, officials said on Wednesday.

State governments of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh had earlier this year announced free coaching schemes to help students prepare for JEE Main, NEET exams. The NTA provides content-best lectures by IIT professors and subject experts.

Children belonging to scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), other backward classes (OBC) and those whose parents have an annual income of up to Rs 8 lakh can avail the scheme.

The scheme aims to provide free coaching for competitive exams like NEET and IIT-JEE to students coming from diverse backgrounds like rural areas, poor families and marginalised sections, who are not able to afford and avail private coaching services.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has set up coaching centres as part of Abhyuday scheme and offer free classes to the aspirants of competitive exams including JEE and NEET.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 24 announced the launch of a free coaching scheme for JEE, NEET, NDA, CDS and UPSC examinations.

"All Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes candidates registered with any Employment Exchange in the above said places are eligible to apply," it has said.

The CBSE has also decided to conduct regional webinars for the hub-leaders. The details and the schedule will be shared later.

A total of 31 institutes have been recognized by the selection committee appointed by the government to provide free coaching in competitive exams to SC, OBC students.
