The Ministries of Power and Coal will deliberate on the "contentious" issue of pooling prices of coal in this week's Cabinet meet.

Coal India feels price pooling of domestic and imported coal would result in an extra burden on state power utilities which already owe over Rs 5,000 crore to the PSU, an official said.

The Ministry of Power and the Central Electricity Authority have mooted a proposal under which CIL imports coal to fulfill its fuel supply obligations.
