Gandhi Law Degree

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has said that Mahatma Gandhi had no university degree and that he had a law degree is a "misconception". Mr Sinha claimed Gandhi ji's only qualification was a high school diploma.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi first docked in England as a student just days before his 19th birthday in 1888 in pursuit of a law degree and is known to have fully immersed himself in London life.

"They keep asking why I didn't return my award. In that case, Mahatma Gandhi should've also returned his law degree to the British government because he was against it. But he didn't do so, did he?" said Kamal Haasan. "People should seriously consider using podiums to raise their voice," he added

Coming out strongly against those returning their awards over the "intolerance" row, actor Kamal Haasan today wondered if such acts would achieve anything as he invoked Mahatma Gandhi saying even he did not give back his Law degree to protest against the Britishers.
