Speaking to NDTV, Ghulam Qadir Lone of banned Jamaat-e-Islami said they are fighting the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls so that the ban imposed on them can be lifted.

Terrorists attacked a BJP leader in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, leaving his personal security guard dead. One of the terrorists was also killed in the retaliatory action, police said.

Raids are being conducted in Srinagar and several persons are being questioned after the police claimed to have foiled a terror plot in Srinagar with the arrest of a London-based Kashmiri doctor.
