Girl Beaten In Public

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday issued a notice to Delhi Police seeking registration of FIR and arrests in the case where a girl was brutally beaten in the city's Paschim Vihar.

A 19-year-old woman is dragged by her hair, tied to a tree and beaten with sticks in full public view by her father and cousins, in a set of disturbing videos that have emerged from Madhya Pradesh.

A man, seen brutally assaulting a 17-year-old girl at a mobile phone shop in southeast Delhi's Jaitpur was arrested by the police on Wednesday after the girl filed a complaint against him. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at the shop.

Three persons, including two women, were on Tuesday arrested in connection with the incident in which three teenaged girls were tied to a lamp post and badly beaten up by the public on suspicion of having stolen Rs 1,000 from a textile shop in Salem, police said.
