Girl Missing From Gorakhpur Up

Supreme Court has said that a girl, who went missing from Gorakhpur in UP in July and was later found by the Delhi Police earlier this month, is "still a minor" as per the report of age determination received from AIIMS, New Delhi.

The Supreme Court Tuesday handed over the investigation of a case lodged in Uttar Pradesh, after a 13-year-old girl was missing from Gorakhpur since July 8, to Delhi Police which recently recovered her and arrested the allegedly abductor.

The Gorakhpur police made excellent use of social media to trace two girls who had been reported missing.

The police on Tuesday found an inmate from the Deoria shelter home, from where 24 girls were rescued and 18 appeared missing on Sunday night, at an old age home run by the same NGO in Gorakhpur.
