Girls Abandoned By Parents

Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Tuesday asked the Indian Ambassador in Spain to send back the adopted girl who was abandoned by her foster parents in the country.

The body of a one-and-half-month old girl child was recovered from a locked house in Banswara district of Rajasthan, police said today.

When the police broke into a house in north Delhi on August 19, alerted by neighbours to a stench, they saw what would shock even the most hardened eyes. In a dark locked room were two little girls, barely alive, their bodies infected and crawling with worms.
