Foxconn Needs Government Approval for China Chip Firm Investment, Taiwan Says

Foxconn would need permission from the government of Taiwan if the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer were to invest in Chinese chip conglomerate Tsinghua Unigroup, according to a government official. According to reports, the Taiwan-based firm plans to spend CNY 9.8 billion (roughly Rs. 11,600 crore) for a stake in Unigroup.
